The inaugural POWERMAN Hawaii is finally there

The beautiful destination event taking place on the historic Big Island will launch on Sunday.  Athletes from 6 countries and 7 states will be challenged in the proper Powerman way  with this course starting and finishing at Kealakehe high school with breathtaking views over-looking the Pacific Ocean.

Utilizing the high school track and football stadium as the start and finish and post event area as well as each lap of the run course overlooking the ocean on the back side of the track will serve as a perfect spectator viewing area inside the stadium.  A challenging run course will take the athletes around one lap of the track each time they enter the stadium then utilizing a portion of the high school cross country course before they have a really fast, sweeping downhill back into the stadium.

The bike course is equally as challenging with about 8k on the historic Queen K highway where many battles for the Ironman World Championship have been earned. The athletes will complete 1,2 or 4 laps of a 14k loop.  The challenge is a gradual climb approaching Hina Lani, then the fun begins immediately with a 2.5k climb.  Even with the climb it is a fast course with the stretch on the Queen K being a point where athletes can get aero and fly.

With dozens of direct flights into Kailua Kona as well as Honolulu Hawaii you will want to put this event on your to do list for that incredible destination event, one you will cherish for a lifetime and want to come back each year to enjoy the challenge of Powerman Hawaii.  Then following your finish you can enjoy all the beautiful islands have to offer.
